SCIENCE ADVICE FOR POLICY
BY EUROPEAN ACADEMIES

YASAS is joining the SAPEA project

The Young Academies Science Advice Structure (YASAS) has officially joined the SAPEA project as a new network member.

YASAS is a collaboration of European Young Academies. YASAS was founded in 2020 and is the first formalized platform for the cooperation of European Young Academies. It seeks to deepen the exchange between European Young Academies and aims to strengthen the delivery of science advice in Europe by directly giving voice to early and mid-career academics.

YASAS at this moment brings together 13 national young academies (Belgium, Denmark, Estonia Finland, Germany, Hungary, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Scotland, Spain and Sweden) and two transnational young academies (Young Academy of Europe, Global Young Academy) but invites other European Young Academies to join its ranks. The Young Academy of Europe also acts as the legal representative of YASAS. Jacek Kolanowski from the Young Academy of Poland currently serves as the President of YASAS.
